Hi there! Welcome to Bold n Balanced, my personal lifestyle blog. Here you will find things from all aspects of life, health, finances, wellness, confidence and so much more. Why? Because in todays day and age, it is too easy to get sucked into perfection in ONE aspect of life. The big picture is often forgotten yet is the BEST PART of life! I am far from perfect or the expect on this – this blog will track my progress as I look to be a debt free household, get in the best shape of my life and continue to strive to find balance in life.
My name is Allie & welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m a wife, teacher, NASM certified personal trainer and online coach with Major Gainz Fitness, lifter of heavy things, lover of all foods, horseback rider and fur baby momma. Phew. I was born & raised in Massachusetts. My journey has been L O N G but because of it my P A S S I O N continues to grow.
I married my high school sweetheart in October of 2014. It was the most perfect day and we did it all without breaking the bank. I must admit that I always have not been the smartest financially and am lucky to have a level headed husband who has inspired me to finally take charge and gain financial freedom. Currently between the two of us we have over 50K debt in student loans. In the grand scheme of things, it isn’t an astronomical amount, but it’s enough for us to want to get our butts in gear to get this debt gone for good.
I am a 20-something who is determined to be debt free before 30. I will get into the best shape of my life all while living on a budget. I will continue to seek balance in all aspects of life to maintain a happy, loving, prosperous life where memories, not things are collected each and every day.
I have been overweight, underweight, “just right” and everywhere in between. I have dabbled in every “fad diet” there is. Yo-yo dieting, calorie counting, endless hours of cardio. It is what you are supposed to do after all when you’re a 20-something college student looking to get fit right? That is what all the other girls were doing at the gym, I had to be doing it right. WRONG. It couldn’t be more wrong. I developed unhealthy habits that led to a terrible relationship with food (restrictive habits) & left me weaker, mentally and physically than ever. Even though I was my lowest adult weight, I looked and felt “awful”. I was not confident, I had zero energy & lost almost all of the muscle I once worked so hard to build.
I took charge. I needed to change. Something had to give. I became fearless, nothing was going to stop me from living a happy, healthy life. My motivation is to be my best self. I want to feel good. I want to wake up feeling refreshed. I want to have the energy to be busy all day long without dreaming about coffee. I want to inspire others to be their best & learn to live a balanced life – I know the first step is the scariest, I’ve been there!
